Additional Description: Honored to present this superb 1959 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud I James Young Coupe. Offered is one of only two examples world wide (Design SC 20) to receive custom saloon coupe coachwork from the London-based coachbuilder, James Young. Founded as a carriage builder in 1863, James Young would eventually be purchased, in 1937, by London Rolls-Royce dealer Jack Barclay and would go on to create a number of unique bodies for both Bentley and Rolls-Royce. Finished in Midnight Blue with a red pinstripe and St. James red leather interior, this all-aluminum Silver Cloud is the embodiment of British automotive elegance with a sumptuous interior that features a burled-walnut dashboard, door caps and even a fold-down picnic trays. Optioned with power steering, power windows, air conditioning, factory left hand drive and finish details such as the appropriate tool kit, manual book, spare wheel, and jack. This Silver Cloud was the focus of a no expense spared restoration (2010-2012) The under carriage of this fine vehicle is as show quality as the exterior. But perhaps even more impressive than the quality of its restoration is the car's well-documented ownership history. Originally built to the special order of Hollywood producer William Goetz, co-founder of 20th Century Fox, this custom-bodied Rolls-Royce was delivered to Goetz in February 1959 via the Peter Santori dealership in Pasadena, California. Owned by Goetz until his passing in 1969, it then passed on to an East Coast developer who cared for the car until 1997. In 1997 it was sold to a Beverly Hills collector, who commissioned a restoration. Full services records accompany the car dating back more then 20 years. The file for this motorcar is very extensive which only adds to its impeccable heritage. Accepted to the Pebble Beach Concours in 2004 and again in 2015, where it took a third in class, this Silver Cloud represents a unique and desirable piece of Rolls-Royce history. This prestigious motorcar has also been featured on the cover of the Post 55 Silver Cloud newsletter and took home first place concours at the RROC Southern California Concours d'Elegance in 2016. In addition to it's awards and numerous write ups this Silver Cloud Coupe comes with original build documents from James Young even including the original hand drawn blue prints! It truly is a work of art and with only two in the world it will prove to be a unique addition to any collection. Price upon request. Call for complete details. ** SHOWN BY APPOINTMENT ONLY **

Recalls are a well-established global practice; from time to time they are announced by almost all manufacturers of not only cars, but also any other industrial products. But since a car is considered a source of increased danger, it is recalls in the automotive industry that attract the most attention and cause the greatest resonance. Check if your car is covered by a recall campaign. Sometimes manufacturers will recall their cars because of substandard parts or workmanship and repair them for free, regardless of the warranty. This is called a recall campaign. More information on 1959 Rolls-Royce SILVER CLOUD recalls can be found in this database. It may be useful to use online problems resource that shows automotive defect patterns, based on complaint data submitted by vehicle owners. The problems are organized into groups with data published by vehicle, component, and specific issue. See also an updated list of 1959 Rolls-Royce SILVER CLOUD problems before buying a used car. In most cases, the recall is initiated by the manufacturer. But it also happens that it is forced to do so. The largest and most scandalous recall campaigns were those that were initiated by complaints and lawsuits from consumers through controlling state structures.
